This Privacy Policy explains how Loom ("we," "our," or "the bot") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Loom Discord bot.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Loom, we may collect and store the following information:

• Discord User ID — Used to identify your account and store your profile preferences.
• Discord Username & Tag — Stored when a report is submitted to identify the reporting party.
• Guild (Server) ID and Name — Used to associate calls and reports with the correct server.
• Message Content (Call Reports Only) — When you reply to a message and submit a report, the content of the replied-to message may be stored as context for moderation review.
• Profile Data — Any bio, color preferences, server invite links you choose to set using Loom commands.
• Call Metadata — Information about active and queued connections. This data is temporary and cleared when calls end.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To facilitate cross-server call connections between users.
• To display your profile card when you use c.friendme.
• To review reports submitted by users for moderation purposes.
• To manage Premium status and feature access.

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties.

3. Data Retention

• Profile data is retained until you delete it or request removal.
• Call data is temporary and cleared upon call termination.
• Report logs are retained indefinitely for moderation purposes.

4. Data You Can Control

You can update or clear your profile at any time using c.setbio, c.setcolor, and c.clearprofile. To request full deletion, contact us through our support server.

5. Anonymous Calls

During calls, your username is visible to the other party through the relay system. Your User ID is never shared with other users.

6. Children's Privacy

Loom is not directed at users under the age of 13. By using Loom, you confirm you meet Discord's minimum age requirement.

7. Third-Party Services

Loom may integrate with Top.gg for voting features. Please review Top.gg's Privacy Policy separately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of Loom after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Artificial Intelligence

Loom does not use artificial intelligence to process, analyze, or generate any content on our platform. We do not use AI moderation, AI-generated responses, or AI profiling of any kind. For our full stance on AI, see our AI Policy.

Community Rules

These rules apply to all users of the Loom Discord bot. By using Loom, you agree to abide by these rules. Violations may result in removal from the Loom network.

1. Respect Every Person

Treat every user you connect with through Loom with basic respect and decency.

2. No Hate Speech or Harassment

• Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality, disability, or national origin
• Harassment, threats, intimidation, or targeted abuse of any user
• Doxxing or sharing anyone's personal information without consent

3. No Explicit or NSFW Content

Loom is a general-purpose platform. Do not send, share, or reference explicit, sexual, or NSFW content through Loom calls at any time.

4. No Spam or Flooding

Do not flood Loom channels with repeated messages, emoji spam, or mass pings.

5. No Illegal Content or Activity

Do not use Loom to facilitate, discuss, promote, or share anything that violates applicable laws or Discord's Terms of Service.

6. No Advertising Without Permission

Unsolicited server advertising through Loom calls is not permitted. Use the c.fr Premium server feature to share your server legitimately.

7. Be Yourself

Loom is built for real human connection. Do not impersonate other users, pretend to be someone you're not, or use bots, scripts, or AI tools to generate your messages. Every person on the other side of a Loom call deserves to know they're talking to a real human being.

8. Report Bad Actors

• Reply to their message and use c.report
• Right-click or long-press the message → Apps → Report Message

9. No AI-Generated Content

The use of AI tools to generate messages, responses, or any content sent through Loom calls is strictly forbidden. Loom is built for real human connection. Using AI to impersonate a real conversation violates the spirit and rules of the platform.

• Do not use ChatGPT, Claude, or any AI chatbot to generate messages sent on Loom calls
• Do not use AI voice tools to impersonate yourself or others
• Do not use AI image generators to send AI-generated images as your own

Violations of this rule will result in a warning or ban at staff discretion.

Our Commitment: Loom Does Not Use AI

Loom is built entirely by humans, for humans. We do not use AI to:

• Generate, moderate, or filter messages during calls
• Create bot responses or automate conversations
• Analyze or profile user behavior
• Produce any content on behalf of the platform

Every word Loom's bot sends every embed, every response, every match was written and designed by a real person. That's a promise.

User Prohibition: No AI on Calls

Using AI tools to generate content sent through Loom calls is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to:

• AI chatbots (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) used to write messages you send on calls
• AI voice tools that synthesize or clone voices during calls
• AI image generators used to produce images sent as your own during calls
• AI personas bots or scripts pretending to be a real human on a Loom call

Why This Rule Exists

Loom exists for genuine human connection. When someone connects to a call on Loom, they expect to be talking to a real person — not a machine. Using AI to simulate that connection is deceptive and undermines everything Loom stands for.

We believe the internet has enough AI-generated noise. Loom is intentionally a space for real people.

Enforcement

Violations of this policy are handled by the Loom moderation team and may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent ban from the Loom network depending on severity.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Loom, a Discord bot ("the Service") operated by the Loom team ("we," "us," or "our"). By using Loom, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement to use Loom. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the authority to agree to these Terms. If you are using Loom on behalf of a Discord server, you represent that you have the authority to bind that server to these Terms.

2. Use of the Service

Loom provides anonymous cross-server calling functionality through Discord. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms, our Community Rules, and Discord's Terms of Service. You agree not to:

• Use the Service to transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its related systems
• Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, phishing links, or any malicious content
• Use automated scripts, bots, or AI tools to interact with the Service on your behalf
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

3. Premium Services

Loom offers optional paid features ("Premium"). By purchasing Premium, you agree to the following:

• All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for Premium purchases except where required by applicable law.
• Premium plans are tied to your Discord account and are non-transferable.
• Monthly Premium renews on a cycle basis. It is your responsibility to cancel before renewal if you no longer wish to be charged.
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Premium features at any time. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users.
• Chargebacks or payment disputes initiated in bad faith will result in immediate termination of your Premium access and may result in a ban from the Loom network.

4. Content

You retain ownership of any content you send through the Service. By using Loom, you grant us a limited license to transmit and relay your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service. We do not claim ownership over your content and we do not sell it to third parties.

You are solely responsible for all content you send through Loom. We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or ban any user who violates these Terms or our Community Rules.

5. Moderation & Enforcement

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any user from the Loom network at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or our Community Rules. Banned users may appeal through our support server, but we are under no obligation to reinstate access.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, call quality, or match availability.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Loom team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. This includes but is not limited to damages resulting from content transmitted through Loom calls, unauthorized access to your data, or service interruptions.

8. Third-Party Services

Loom operates within and alongside Discord, a third-party platform governed by its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We are not affiliated with Discord Inc. Your use of Discord is subject to Discord's own terms. We also integrate with Top.gg for voting features, which has its own terms.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through the appropriate legal channels in the applicable jurisdiction.
